I am a self-taught mixed media artist, although I have the grateful convenience of claiming creative heritage from my father's side of the family. His father was an oil artist who painted some incredibly beautiful windmills in Holland. My uncle was an illustrator and painter in Amsterdam. My father exposed his creativity in his profession as a dental prosthetist hand carving wax molds and shaping plaster forms. I make good use of his dental tools in all my work.

From a noticeably early age, my father taught me how to draw. With an eye for architecture and interior design, my father demanded a lot of my time with DIY home renovations growing up.

When I finished school, I began my art in faux finishes learning about color in interior design, wall murals, and furniture finishes.

I never plan my projects out. My inspiration usually begins with an attraction towards something I saw that has amazing colors, something with sparkle or shine or it could be an unusual design I found in the garden or the beach. Then I just let my hands and heart lead the way.
